The banks and big business will no doubt fund the case
// I wonder if the main body of crowd funders are perhaps members of "the travelling community" //

Some of you are just weird sometimes.

Crowd funding is getting small amounts of money from a large number of people via the internet. In this instance, they have got 5000 people to donate £35. The demographic of crowd funders is usually wealthy internet savvy professionals, and not 'travelling people'.
People making the donations are voluntarily giving money. Unlike Mrs May who is wasting my tax money on a worthless appeal whether I like it or not.

Oohh I didn't know that the "travelling community" had no access to the internet or were short of ready cash, or were short of savvy. Could 350 people give £500 instead of your narrow example?
Does it really matter who is funding the case against the Government?

You can crowd fund as much as you like but it’s the tax payers who are going to have to pay for the defence or would that be legal posturing

It does if you would like to understand the motive.
Togo,
If you bothered to read the link I provided, you would know that 5000 wasn't a random number, it was the number that actually pledged.
Or 50 people pledged 100 times or 5 people a 1000 times or...........zzzzzz
Togo,
Are you on medication?
Well certainly not yours....... far too bitter for my taste. :))
As far as I can see we have 5 definite names.  Hardly Smith and Jones though.
Paul Cartwright, 50, a Gibraltarian national who runs Brex-IN,
Christopher Formaggia, 49,
Tahmid Chowdhury, 21,
Rob Pigney, 22
Oh and the guy "organizing" it. Quote.." I am Grahame Pigney, I happen to live in France but that is inconsequential" If he says so ay.
