You've got to hand it to the Trumpster! He's put the fear of god into Ford on this one and their response was indeed swift.

I have opined many times that I regard Twitter and Facebook as 'social media' - but not the AB.
My reasoning is simple - this site started before 'social media' existed, and I have always viewed at something separate and superior, so in my mind, I don't do 'social media'.

Ninefingers -//Wrong way round, sites like this were the reason your defined "social Media" sites appeared, they developed from these therefore AB and the myriad of sites like them are the parents of social media //
That link is somewhat tenuous at best I suggest.
Robert Johnson is the father of the blues, and Led Zeppelin are a blues band descended directly from Robert Johnson's music, but Led Zeppelin are not Robert Johnson.

It's not tenuous, 15 years ago plus sites that you could interact with other people developed, they were very simple but they gave people a new module and methiod to communicate with each other; forums.
As an example, The BBC saw their page hits mount exponentially when they switched the 666 message boards on, people could communicate on specialist topics they wanted to discuss.
Facebook came from the same concept talking about female college students (typical US college stuff) on something called Facemash. Eventually with funding Zuckerberg created facebook on the same concepts, forums where people could link with friends and family to communicate using the concepts of friends reunited. Twitter does the same in 140 characters, instagram and snapchat with pictures. Everything derives from those original message board beginnings and the earliest websites, evolution!

This from the Business Dictionary: Social Media: Primarily internet or cellular phone based applications and tools to share information among people. Social media includes popular networking websites, like Facebook and Twitter; as well as bookmarking sites like Reddit. It involves blogging and forums and any aspect of an interactive presence which allows individuals the ability to engage in conversations with one another, often as a discussion over a particular blog post, news article, or event.
