Yup, as DB says, curve of the bullet and the angle of the windscreen (which is very tough glass) mean that a ricochet is quite probable with relatively slow moving bullets.

So the narative will not be one sided.
None of the five police attack vehicles were marked, so the drug dealers probably thought they were being attacked by a rival gang. For the police kill to be legitimate, they have to identify themselves to their target, and only fire if they felt threatened or in danger. The testimony of the survivors in the car will be crucial, so e will have to wait and see what emerges.
