How Long Before The Management Empire Brings The Nhs To It's Knees?

The end of the NHS cannot be long. It will of course be the fault of all those that seem to think no reform is needed and lean on the Government (of any party) to such a degree they cannot do anything due to the extreme bad publicity it would bring.
And now we have this, more management and privatization to boot.

When we are spending billions it seems sensible that someone should be audit in some but i think it should be selective sampling audits targeting areas where savings are expected
In any organisation it's necessary to have some checks in place to ensure money is being spent wisely. Mistake are made by busy people and sometimes when spending other people's money it's possible to sanction some expenditure when the benefits are doubtful or better value options exist. The trusts who have done it have said it is done to save money. Whilst savings can be made it is also the case that manger/admin people in most companies are usually pretty good at creating work for themselves and giving the impression they are adding value/saving money.
I think the idea is worth looking at, maybe as a pilot, and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand but someone then needs to check that it is value for money. (Trouble is, does someone then need to check the checkers).
Perhaps we don't really know and can't influence change anyway in this area

The NHS is a basket-case, it was never intended for such things as giving expensive drugs to homosexuals so they could have unprotected sex with one another. It has the worst record in Europe for cancer recovery. Health tourism is a burden and its cost is swept under the carpet, GPs earn far more than their equivalents abroad, and no one wants to pay for their own healthcare.
Result; meltdown inevitable.

I've banged on for ages about getting rid of unnecessary BEAUROCRACY in the NHS.. For crying out loud! .... I had increasing hip pain and immobility. I went to my GP (this is in France) She sent me for a set of X-rays by giving me an Ordonnance (prescription), I rang and fixed up X-rays, got them (with report) in 10 days and returned to GP. Yup, replacement necessary. Here is number of surgeon's secretary. Ring number, fix app'tm't, go to see him, fix date for op., walk further along corridor, book anaesthetist, go downstairs and book room. Done. All over in 3 months, back home with new hip and walking around.
Now compare that with the 9 week palaver I had here getting a wrist X-ray and diagnosis. Put responsibility in the clients (patients) and ditch the admin. and managers!! Doctors manage the hospitals in France.
