Last night's party political broadcast by Labour focused on the NHS which is fair enough but they kept asking what happened to the extra £350 million a week that would save the NHS.
Unless I misunderstood I assume they are talking about the Leave campaign's bus saying the £350 million we pay the EU each month could be used to give the NHS . Putting aside all the arguments as to whether the figure should have been £350m or our net contribution of around half that, surely the complaint that this particular bit of extra money hasn't been forthcoming is silly given that we haven't stopped our EU contributions yet and besides it wasn't the government that suggested the figure- it was the Leave campaign/UKIP.

Did I misunderstand their broadcast?

I was saying exactly the same thing, it was nothing to do with any particular party.

When i referred to the Leave bus poster I meant £350 million a week not per month

Thanks donny. They seemed to be pointing the finger at the government for not spending any of it yet.

It was as expected a complete load of ballcocks, a deliberate misrepresentation.
I didn't see the broadcast.

Still going on about the result of the Referendum nearly a year on is lazy. Especially as it was Labour voters that won the Out result. Labour will not be pledging that all our EU contributions be spent on the NHS, so it is pointless saying it.
Corbyn seems like a nice man, but he couldn't lead a troupe of Girl Guides. If this is the message the Party want to convey, then they cannot be taken seriously.
Which party advertised this lie ,[ on the leave campaigns bus ]?
about the £350 million, cant remember of hand.
It was not a party lie, it was a leave campaign lie and the leave campaign was not composed or supported entirely by one party.
well the £350m a week is what we give to the EU, we are still giving it the EU so that's what happened to it. Surprised Labour are not aware that we are still in the EU. The whole thing is silly anyway, the amount was painted on the side of a bus as what we would save, it never said it would go to the NHS, it just mentioned the NHS as one of many areas that it could be spent on. The remoaners have been banging on about it wrongly ever since.
Just like everything else wrong they bang on about daily..

Under Corbyn labour are pointless.

"I have a plan, he doesnt have a clue" Classic line.
Think it should have been the other way around when it comes to Brexit,. MAY should have said
We have not got a plan and I have not got a clue. she ain't out of the woods yet, there are still lots of hurdles ahead
In fairness to UKIP I don't think it was their supported campaign which made the £350 million claim.
I did not see the broadcast either. It pains me to see it but it strikes me that at present Labour is clinging to the NHS issue like a refugee clinging to the wreckage. It IS an issue of course, and a serious one, but there are other things that need addressing also. When Mr Corbyn was asked why the people of Copeland should vote Labour in the by-election given some of Labout's other policies, he immediately changed the subject to the NHS, which, fairly or otherwise, sounded like avoiding the question.
no claims were made full stop, all it said was we would save £350m a week and that could be spent elsewhere.
"Like a refugee clinging to the wreckage" think you ought to re write that part of your post, ichi. it comes across a bit offensive.
What, to Labour under Corbyn, or to refugees?
Any refugees still following Answerbank in spite of the odd injunction by some here to scupper their boats etc are probably made of stern stuff :-)
NO one tells me what to do , eh.
Labour obviously thought there was still some mileage in peddling what the non tabloid readers could clearly see was a desperate attempt by another political party to win the vote of the hard of thinking. A terrible indictment on the intelligence of their voters.
To be fair, I do understand why some people who are possibly not the sharpest knife in the drawer think it says on the bus 'We will definitely give all the 350 million pounds to the NHS all of it, we repeat all of it' easy mistake to make.
When the UK eventually stops contributions to the EU Britain will, as a net contributor be about 8 billion pounds per annum better off. Divide that sum 12 and comes to £666,666,666.667 per month the exchequer will have extra, how that will be spent will be up to the government.
£8.5 billion is more accurate but hey, whats the price of a new hospital between friends.
Zacs; It seems that many more than one could be built for that;
