TTT, the EU are stupid enough to shoot themselves in the foot. However personally I dont see this as an issue. The whole world will be open to us not just a small set of countries in which our trade (export) is steadily decreasing anyway.

And the sun will shine allllll the time. We'll all have 6 months holiday a year (not to be taken anywhere in the EU of course!) and eat ambrosia for every meal (which should cut the need to import cheese and stuff from those horrible foreigners). Aaaah. Can't wait.

Take the pee all you like but seriously we should eat locally produced food if only to cut food miles down. It is ludicrous with all this attempt to remove diesels from the road that we transport goods thousands of miles that we ourselves could produce. Doesnt make sense.

Let's not forget that the EU is an exclusive club, and we are to leave it. Which means we will no longer be able to take advantage of the services on offer.
So we cannot say we still want this, this and that. And the EU will have to get used to us not being a member. Clear terms should not be difficult to establish.

But Pattison, Longwoth and May are making a mistake by publicly trying to bully the 27 members into doing something that they don't want. And it is setting themselves up for a fall. The Germans aren't going to ge dictated to, and if we go into negotiations inflexible and with demands, we are going to be disappointed.

When we invoke article 50, we will have effectively left the EU, so we will not be part of how the EU copes with our leaving. But we will have to form a new relationship with it, which will have to be mutually acceptable. That is the bit that needs careful handling, not blundering by the likes of Pattinson.

We import more from Germany, than we export. The same with most EU countries. So that means the cost of things we importwill be more expensive and prices in the shops will rise.

we can get everything we need elsewhere. Cheese, wine, fruit, cars, everything. The world beyond the EU tyranny is vast. If they don't want to sell to us or they impose tariffs then bye bye.

I'm more than happy to drink Chilean red wine (or good red from other countries) and British white and sparkling wines are a match for French ones. This is all getting a bit silly. Substitutes are available for everything we buy from the EU (Somerset Brie for example). Just sold a beautiful, 20-yr-old BMW 3 series, but other cars will get us around. Conciliatory message from one German minister today anyway - Schnaubel, I think. Just be sensible on both sides.
