Shame he died before he (and the rest of us) received a satisfactory answer to his famous question – named by Enoch Powell after Mr Dalyell’s constituency - which he first asked almost forty years ago. A question which, with every step of greater devolution, seems ever more important.

I'd largely forgotten how he stopped the first attempt at this Devolution sillyness. Pity he wasn't about later when Saint Tony was ruining the UK. We'd have been without the Wee un at least!
