Will she be sacked
Would you support the sacking or back her up?

I know you like a tiple on a Sunday afternoon Zacs ... maybe come back to the thread later ... with a clear head?
Haven't touched a drop old bean.

Let's face it who hasn't thought that Trump might get bumped off.
It's easy to forget he's only been in post a week. Feels like a lifetime already. But it's certainly gingered up the old AnswerBank

Totally different and you know it.
(Ich, is it me or does Talbot seem to be reading words that aren't there?)

Zacs
Their tweets are therefore inextricably linked to their employment, especially where that employment is writing a column.

Hence my OP.
Have a think about it. I think you have read my C&P of Gromit's post and got hold of the wrong end of the stick.
Question Author
It's you Zacs
You seem to be citing, after your OP, that as she didn't do the tweet when she was on duty she shouldn't be sacked. Ich and myself were arguing against that which seemed to be something you had trouble understanding. Quite a few people have been sacked for tweets, as demonstrated in my link.
Question Author
I think you need to start again Zacs.

I was telling Gromit that I was fully aware it was a Tweet.

If I didn't think that her ' tweets are therefore inextricably linked to their employment,' why would I have even posted the thread?

ich has given his support for the assignation.
My apologies Talbot, it was the Gromit 'mark as best answer' heading and then No speech marks which made me think they were your own words.

hakuna matata
I normally remove 'mark as best answer' but forgot on this occasion.
No, she shouldn't be sacked. I am sure, as are all of you, that she wasn't really hoping for Trump to be assassinated.
She is worried about his being president, as am I, other ABers, other columnists, satirists and most of USA.

She posted it, she hasn't taken a backward step on the Tweet as yet.
What makes you believe she didn't mean it?
She also posted one straight after saying 'let's not pretend *taps watch*'
Why shouldn't she speak out.

As the great parliamentarian Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
It's another example of how TwitFace lets even intelligent people think out loud to the universe, instead of just themselves.

I am constantly amazed that people with lives and jobs and minds spend time on this pointless random irritating useless hobby of tapping out their random thoughts to compete strangers.

I was Ms. Knight's employer, I would have having a word with her about the lack of intelligence and forethought needed to behave in this way, and suggest that she confines her keyboard activity to something useful and productive - clearly spouting ill-considered garbage on TwitFace is neither.
'I am constantly amazed that people with lives and jobs and minds spend time on this pointless random irritating useless hobby of tapping out their random thoughts to compete strangers.'...........

Ah, hem.
Canary42 - //As the great parliamentarian Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” //

By using that quote, is your inference that President Trump is 'evil'?

I would suggest that he is not.

Stupid, chauvinistic, chippy, immature, random, nasty, thin-skinned, hot-headed, unworldly, arrogant, racist, arrogant, and utterly unsuited to influence over anything that even vaguely matters in the world - yes, but evil, no.

Call him all the names under the sun *** *** *** *** ... take your pick, not many people would have a problem with that but this ... you really support this Canary?
Zacs-Master - If that was aimed at me, and I imagine that it was, I can assure you that no-one in the world has even seen my random thoughts anywhere - either in cyber space or in print, all my thoughts produced where people can read them are considered, and thought out.
