I'm trying to work out what this man will be charged with. Thankfully the boy didn't die, but if he had the man would probably be charged with manslaughter (if it can be established that he did, in fact, believe the air rifle was unloaded. Otherwise it would be murder),

Unfortunately these stupid people think that like hitting a dog it will shut up -that is they think, if you hit a crying child he will quieten but kids are hard wired to cry louder ....
