He was (very rightly) quick off the mark with the Louvre attack, but seems reluctant to publicly condemn the other terrorist attack of last week.

This seems strange - especially for a man who seems to spend a shockingly large amount of time posting his thoughts on Twitter.

What you you want him to say?

Some far right home grown nutter went on a killing spree. It unfortunately happens and I'm not sure what else can be said or done about it.
You've missed out a vital fact there YMB.
Pray tell.

Then why did he condemn the Louvre attack?

He cannot say that it justifies his ban on Muslims travelling to the U.S., because the alleged attacker is Egyptian, and Egypt is not on the list of countries affected by the ban.
Nothing strange at all....it suits his position to ignore the attack, as it wasn't perpetrated by

A.... a Muslim
B.....a foreigner

If it was a someone from Syria, or any other country he tried but failed to include in his ban on Muslims, he would have been shouting about it from the rooftops, waving his little hands in the air, in his usual hysterical manner.
// Donald Trump has failed to give a statement in one week about the white man who burst into a mosque in Quebec and shot dead six Muslims.

The man charged with carrying out the attack is French-Canadian Alexandre Bissonnette, a 27-year-old white student who supported Mr Trump and far-right French politician Marine Le Pen.

Mr Trump has not tweeted about or provided a statement on the shooting which rocked Canada and the world. //

Yes, he tweeted about the Paris Louvre attack within hours of the attack, but the incident on his doorstep has been ignored. Perhaps he doesot want to upset his fan base.

Also it's noteworthy that certain newspapers have referred to Bissonnette as a 'lone wolf', rather than a terrorist.
No, I don’t think it’s odd. This was a lone nutter, but increasingly frequent attacks by Muslims in the west are a universally acknowledged problem. Still, it’s something else to criticise him for, so why not?
Naomi, you don't think that the fact that the attack was ON Muslims is the reason for his silence? What would you put it down to?
As has been pointed out, the US has had no terror attacks by any national from a country on the banned list. The 9/11 attackers were Saudi Arabians, but that nation, which buys $billions of US weaponry, is stangely not on the list of banned countries
"No, I don’t think it’s odd. This was a lone nutter"

Not a terrorist then?
In fairness he wouldn't since it isn't sufficiently related to his legislation nor to his country.

It's about a combination of risk level and practicality. White skinned non-Muslims and their countries are less connected with terrorist acts than Muslims are at the present time, so they aren't being legislated for by DT. Muslim coutries are higher risk, so those that won't cause the US major problems if on the list, get to be on the list.

Alexandre Bissonnette has all the appearance of being a lone nutter, not a terrorist Randy.

But even if he was, why do you think that Trump has failed to mention the attack, when it happened relatively close to American soil ?
Question Author
terrorist
ˈtɛrərɪst/Submit
noun
1.
a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
I was mistaken in assuming the OP and other posters were right in thinking Trump hasn’t spoken on this. Can’t think why this hasn’t been widely publicised, but in a press release his press secretary said :

“We condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms….” and that Trump “offers his condolences as well as his thoughts and prayers to the victims and their family and to all Canadians.”

Oops. Next subject.
Question Author
nutter

noun BRITISH informal
a mad or eccentric person.

On balance, I'm going to call Bissonnette a terrorist.
That was his administration Naomi, not him personally.
Ah interesting naomi. I think some threads ask for opinions. You aren't supposed to look up the facts (alternative or otherwise).
Doesn't his admin speak for him ?
