//Labour want to re- nationalise the railways, and build affordable homes to rent, both of which are popular policies. They also want to hold the utility companies to account. // I WISH
yes mikey I agree there is a huge difference now and people do have a real choice. I sometimes envy all the old socialist red flag wavers, they have faith they are quasi religious almost but I know their cobblers is, well, cobblers. The last time Labour made themselves electable it was by dumping all their own ideas and pretending to be Tories, Saint Tony did it well and I admire Jezza for sticking to his principles but Labour are not what the people want, we are basically a Tory country who occasionally elects "old Labour".
TTT...nearly correct !

We voted for New Labour 3 Elections in a row....1997, 2001, and 2005. These were very much NOT Old Labour.
yes, New Labour, ie Tories, because "old" Labour are not electable. What did saint Tony do in the first week of his tenure? Yep he had a 1 - 1 with TGL herself.
Whatever you may think of "Tony" TTT, he broke the logjam of all those years of Tory Rule. He have us the minimum wage and devolution for Wales and Scotland, and he also won 2 more Election.

It could be argued that he would have won the 2010 Election as well, had he not abdicated in favour of Brown.
no he didn't he was a Tory. Labour could not win more than 1 term, the country could not endure it.
TTT....I accept that Blair was on the right wing of Labour, but he was far from being a Tory.

The real Tories stood against him years, and lost hopelessly.
Bliar not a Tory? hahahaha

Best get down to specsavers Mickey!
