At last, Bambi admits there is a huge problem :::

Perhaps this "plan" of his is actually getting off his backside and doing something !

I agree about removing the politics from the debate on the NHS, but this man is the Health Secretary, whether we like it or not, and its up to him to sort this mess out.

At the moment, he is presiding over the imminent collapse of the NHS.

Let us hope among these measures are plans to close down the 'World Health Service' and revert it back to the National Health Service, plus an end to mass immigration.

I agree with YMB.
I have put my points over ad infinitum and you have eloquently made your points.......the problem is, that it is now becoming repetitive and tedious.

If you have any new ideas about the NHS, ones that you have not offered us before....then please do so.

Sqad...unlike you, my only contact with the NHS is as a end-user, or in my case, the brother of an end user. (He has now had his titanium plate fitted, but has developed pneumonia, so is still very ill. His care in ITU is exemplary I might add)

But he hasn't spent the last few hours, on a trolley in a corridor somewhere.

I don't pretend to have any magic bullets but all the other various bodies do, like the RCN, the Care Quality Commission, etc, etc do.
You will familiar with the long lost of organisations that have been telling us of this present crisis for a long time now.

Of course the NHS needs a complete overhaul, but that won't help the situation NOW. Bed blocking is also a problem, mainly caused to the near collapse of social care in the local community, because local Councils are being strapped for cash.

Mrs May appears to have done a secret deal with Surrey CC....would that other Councils had the same political clout as Surrey !

Both the BBC and Labour view the NHS as their "bunker". Somewhere to retreat to and take pot shots when they are in a quandary over what to agitate about next. It has all gone a bit hollow now due to the constant bleating, "more money, more staff, less hours, etc. etc.". Echo chamber politics, with no concept of the Boy Who Cried Wolf effect.

Sqad...I forgot to add that Hunt is now admitting the seriousness of the situation, so I am reasonably hopeful that we shall see something happen pretty urgently.

We have endured a full week of "special bulletins" on the main six o clock news every evening from the BBC. Complete with camera crews and technicians somehow being allocated space in overcrowded and overworked A&E units. This could only be accomplished with the collusion and agreement of Hospital Trust(oxymoron there) management. Now whilst the BBC are doing this, other news agencies have been highlighting the increase in NHS doctors setting up private practices in surgeries alongside what should be our NHS facility. They are giving priority treatment to people who are prepared to pay and again lining their pockets at the expense of the taxpayer. Why are the BBC not reporting or filming this? Perhaps they couldn't get an appointment .

The NHS in it's present form is unsustainable what with the increase in population and people living longer. It needs root and branch reform and it should stop being treated as some sacred cow that cant be tampered with and yes maybe there there should be some small charge up front to see the doctor or visiting A and E, at least that should deter the time wasters and hypochondriacs.

Togo....so that is the source of our problems then ? ....the BBC colluding with the NHS. There isn't really a problem then is there....despite Hunt agreeing that there is.

Been there done that, sadly no BBC camera crews were present or I would have had my say as well. Once the "management" realise that the days of using our NHS facilities as a political tool or weapon, and put as much energy and dedication into doing the job that they are supposedly employed to do, the sooner improvement will be possible. They must spend more time dreaming up political strategy and tactics than actually planning and facilitating health care. All of course at a time when they are supposedly busy with the latest crisis. The very crises that they cause by mismanagement and incompetence. Light fires and play fireman syndrome.

If people in this country are living longer, so what, they are the ones who have paid their way all their lives and DESERVE the NHS in their old age - immigrants are the main problem, we are letting far too many in and they are abusing the NHS and it was Labour (who I will never vote for again) who started it all !

Once again Mikey cant help but demonstrate how he likes to deliberately intends to misunderstand, all to make the wrong point as usual. Mikey you would be damned lucky to come into contact with a nurse or medical staff of any sort never mind a triage nurse. Plenty of bed managers ( more bed managers than beds) and admin staff and ward managers and interpreters etc. etc. all at the expense of the dedicated and hard working medical people. The people who do the caring and administer treatment know what the problem is Mikey, but dare not speak out because of Mikey ........ people like you. People who have turned the NHS into what the Labour party boasted of, a weapon. They know that they have to toe the management "party" line or else, their jobs and futures depend on it. Tell you what though, they get out as soon as they can leaving someone else to take the blame for staff shortages. The managers have to be dragged out kicking and screaming only to pop up somewhere else doing the same non job that they have just supposedly vacated. Meeh.
