For years, people have been saying that there isn't enough difference between the serious Party's here in Britain, So now Labour has put clear blue water between themselves and the Tories. And it seemed to work yesterday in Stoke !

"Low turnout in both by-elections. Victory for the Tories in the Lakes but a defeat for them in Stoke. Most importantly, UKIP left with egg on its face yet again."
UKIP losing was not the most important thing last night - the most important thing (two things actually) was (1) Labour lost a seat they've held for 80 years, and therefore by definition was a safe seat, and (2) a Government has seat in a by-election for the first time in 35 years.
Surely even the most rabid of Labour supporters must now have a begrudging inkling that all the time Corbyn is at the helm they are, for want of a better word, ***d.

DeskDiary....on the contrary, UKIP losing in both by-elections, especially Stoke where their new but somewhat temporary Leader stood, was very important. It certainly showed that the voters of Stoke are not keen on being led to.
UKIP has been promising to "break the mould of Politics in Britain" for years, but while they enthuse the xenophobic and racist, as Eddie has said, they still fail to persuade.
If Corbyn was so unpopular, Labour would have lost both elections yesterday. Instead they won one, but the Tories lost the other.

I didn't say it wasn't important - but it wasn't the most important outcome of last night.
UKIP lost, probably, because Nuttall was proven to be a liar.
Labour lost a safe seat - suggesting Corbyn's popularity is OK because they held onto a seat where the opposition candidate lied, and glossing over the more important result last night, is spin.

Nigel or anyone else pledged that the £10 billion, would be spent on the NHS, only that it would be nice if it were to be.
From the 'Independent'????? link that you provided.
/// “Do you know what I’d like to do with the £10 billion? I’d like that £10 billion to be spent helping the communities in Britain that [the] Government damaged so badly by opening up the doors to former communist countries. What people need is schools, hospitals, and GPs. That’s what they
need.” ///
Almost the same as saying "I would like the money we spend on overseas aid spent on our NHS".
