I haven’t been to the US since Trump became president, so there’s no question of ‘defending’ him. The people mentioned in the links are prima donnas – they all think they’re ‘someone’ and should therefore be excused rigorous checks but unfortunately for them they aren’t as instantly recognisable as they like to think.
Mamyalynne, if the authorities want to quiz me on arrival, that’s fine. In the current climate I have no problem with any nation imposing strict security checks. I’m happy to help. It’s a pity our border control isn’t as thorough.

They`ve always been vile so no change there. In fact, in recent years they have been a bit more cheerful because Obama told them to be more welcoming but they will probably return to type now. Next time you go to the US, have a look at their "Pledge" notices at Immigration. "We pledge to respect" etc. Always makes me laugh because they break just about every one of them. Everywhere else in the world has border control that treats people with dignity (apart from Toronto - they are vile too)
