Presumably he is a "Muslim" in the first article because of the visa ban issue. Whether that is of any relevance at all of course is debatable, especially given what happened next.
And in the second article he is Indian and not Kashmiri!
Well, that is going to wind up:
Christians who have a thing about Muslim child abusers
Indians who feel that you are only Kashmiri if you are being portrayed as the victim
People who don't like the BBC
I guess Muslims won't like it much either for reasons associated with the first reason, even tho he's Indian and a lot of people think Indians aren't Muslims, as well as a lot of specifically Kashmiri Muslims who probably don't like being called Indian
And just about anyone else with 5 minutes to spare on Twitter :-)

Yes grommit you are right there, 'the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Bangladesh are Bengali Muslims, but a small segment of them are Biharis and Rohingyas. Most Muslims in Bangladesh are Sunnis, but there is a small Shia community and an even smaller Ahmadiyya community. Most of those who are Shia reside in urban areas.'
It just happens that the only Bangladeshi (a restaurant owner) I know is Shia and I mistakenly thought it was general.

grommit, that's quite correct, 'the overwhelming majority of Muslims in Bangladesh are Bengali Muslims, but a small segment of them are Biharis and Rohingyas. Well Sunni Moslems think that Shia Muslims aren't Muslims. The majority of Muslims I've known were Sunni -and were very disturbed when the first Shia mosque opened. Most pupils and families came from Pakistan and Bangladesh -the Bangladeshis were the most difficult as in obstreperous. Yes, it's rather like equating fire-breathing Irish Catholicism with the Quakers. All very difficult to understand unless you are born into it.
