It is not really a rise in NI,which remains the same for the majority,it is an adjustment to make it fairer for all payers.

If that were true (which it isn't) why are Conservative MPs, Conservative leaning newspapers, and Conservative supporters and members, all objecting to it?
Because they rely a lot on the self employed to vote conservative.
5 million workers will be paying more because of this 'adjustment'.

Possibly I misunderstood, but I thought the principle reason for the increase was to provide funds for the increase in social care necessary to look after an aging population?
