This is a matter of human emotional perception....and is a natural reaction.
World War 2.......all Germans were dangerous and killers.
Attack on Pearl Harbour....all the Japanese were rounded up and treated as the enemy.
The Irish got a bad name in the before the Peace Settlement...it is a defense mechanism.
No...all Muslims aren't terrorists, they just look like them.

post 9-11 I was 'trapped' over here, family in the States....(Brits great to my fellow Americans).
As the towers came down, I booked up consecutive seats on Continental and managed to get confirmation on the first flight out on the Sunday. Came down from the Manchester area on the Saturday, had lunch with a Uni friend (and father to my godson) in the south Oxfordfordshire area, and then into London, overnighting with an early start to Gatwick, at the Churchill.
Coming down the Cromwell Road and just before the V&A, I spy an Arab in the full bedsheets and tea towel and thought, 'what a plonker you are, you are asking to be taken out.'

In answer to the question, we don't know but the numbers will probably continue at around the current level unless there is some further big growth in terrorism related attacks. I recall a study showing terrorist related deaths in Europe have not changed much since the 1970s- the only change is that they are now largely IS (or Al queada last decade) rather than IRA, Basque separatist/ Barder Meinhoff
