I don't agree that all people are 'equally deserving'. They're not. These weren't genuinely seeking 'sanctuary'. There's a clue in the words 'Failed asylum seekers'.

There may be a moral duty for compassion to those in need, but there's no rule regarding the form that compassion should take. It certainly doesn't override a nation's right to decide who to allow in. Playing the compassion card is not a free pass to get whatever those in need, desire.

As for airport security, that's the airport's responsibility.
