The authorities made an enormous cock-up with the original case involving the bin lorry. This is scant comfort to the families of the people he killed that day.

he wasn't being judged for the bin lorry incident, but for driving his car after his licence had been revoked following. there are various reasons why he wasn't jailed. read the sheriff's full statement here.

This man should have been jailed in the first place and if he had any conscience at all he'd never get behind the wheel of a vehicle ever again. Reading the article he says he was just moving his car in a private car park ... for two hours?

So Sargeant Blackman was jailed for life and for murder for putting a half dead ISIS gunman out of his misery and yet this guy who didn't disclose his previous fainting at wheel history and went on to kill six innocent people when driving his refuse van, then six months later he drives whilst his license is revoked and he gets off Scott free!!!
