The gels flying and delivering aircraft
very brave and unrecognised
and judging by this column - still unrecognised
[ think of a word to describe unjustly done down by lesser men ]
They had to fly blind without instruments - I think at night
apparently the instruments ( you know radar and that sort of thing) were fitted at delivery
More history I am afraid Andie
history for you is like foreign languages with Naomi
didnt a famous one drop out of the air over the Thames Estuary ?
( and get eaten by cannibals on eel pie island ?) Amelia Edwards and Amelia Earhart or someone
no OK it was Amy Johnson ( and she didnt get eaten) just testing
The staff of the ATA ( men and women - apparently they took anyone who could fly and didnt bother about being legless or armless or only one eye) complained their cont had not been recognised

// I haven’t read all the posts but I think she’s not only potty - she’s been extremely lucky.//
I am not surprised the polythea in Egypt tracked her pretty closely
There was a prog last year about someone walking the length of the Nile - source to sea - full of love for his fellow man, and unifying warring peoples of all kinds,by paddling in the Nile. Good idea yeah?
actually he seemed to be an orthodox jew
Whisked from Wadi Halfa to Aswan - nothing really to see xc walk along a dual carriageway. Then he got whisked from south of Qena to er North of Qena. Big terrorist place Then they gave up and gave him a fluent english speaking secret policeman as a fren' - whom he thought was a guide at a lose end ( excuse me?) - and then the Minister of Culture met him as he walked to the sea at Alexandria
[ and a good time was had by all] - oh they had shipped him mum and dad in as a surprise as well
as for the police beating the crap out of a fondling fellah
I can well believe it

Peter Pedant, no, not in my dreams. Despite having been told several times of my love of languages, together with my thoughts on the impropriety of writing in foreign languages on English website where a good many of the contributors are likely to be excluded from the discussion, you continue to pop up regularly with what you call your 'foible' - and v-e, clearly an educated man, gets dragged into it too. What on earth is wrong with you? The kindest conclusion I can draw is that you’re incurably forgetful.
