After the recent French and German Islamist terrorist attacks, both the Brandenburg Gate and the Eiffel Tower were quickly illuminated by the respected colours of the victims, so far, though I have heard the usual condolences, I have seen no such display of solidarity for those victims in St Petersburg.

Are Innocent Russian Lives Less Important Than French Or German Ones? Yes, in the eyes of the Europeans, they are, as still the Russians are regarded as the enemy and who respects the dead of the enemy in such a empathetic way? Had a long journey today and was intrigued what sort of thread I would read about this atrocity when I got home.

Shocked to find there wasn't one.
The first I have heard of this - utterly horrific.

I don't know about illuminating landmarks, maybe still in shock , all life is precious.
I don't think it's a rule that points of interest are turned into focal points of mourning.
I was told by another ABer that the BBC are often behind other media outlets because they like to get the facts right.

No they are not less important.
They are very very important.
The BBC are an embarrassment to this country.
It's a tragedy when some scum of the earth want to try to impose their beliefs on everyone else by such cowardly means wherever in the world the cowards murder innocent people.

The gas attack in Tokyo underground....reported but no mass worldwide brotherly sympathy........remember the "Hunt for Red October"..cat and mouth between the Americans and the Russians.
The Russians cheating in the Olympics in a multitude of ways and always the Russians are the "bad guys."
They look different (Mongolian), they talk oddly, their lifestyle is completely different........yes.....to us .... innocent Russian lives ARE less important.
Wrong morally and in every other way......but understandable.
There is no sign of the BBC being an "embarrassment to this country."....none whatsoever, but still we get these childish remarks being made. This is the current headlines on the BBC site ::::

Sqad....Russians look "Mongolian" ?

Really ?
& these Murderous scum expect integration, I doubt this will ever happen, they want a war give it to them.

mikey; Wake up, the OP isn't about headlines, there are plenty of those,
and sqad is talking about a generalised racial morphology of the scull.
mikey...YES.
Have you a problem with that?
What is your opinion on the video I posted @ 23:01 Mon 03rd Apr mikey?
Sqad....I can see no indication that Russians look Mongolian. But even if they do, what difference would it make ?

I am unsure what Khandro is taking about here. There has been wide-spread condemnation of the attack in St Petersburg, including Merkel and Trump.
mikey

"I can see no indication that Russians look Mongolian."

Perhaps i should have used the word "Mongoloid" rather than Mongolian.....would that have been better?

What difference would it have made? Rightly or wrongly people with different looks or different customs are often treated with suspicion and often antagonism.......it is a human trait.
Sqad....I agree with your last sentence. Being different can get you killed everywhere in the world, and that attitude should, f course, be condemned.
