They are hotel workers told with and hours worth of reading a few generic cases to be vigilant about exploited people and act accordingly.

All very sad, as several people have said, this is the world we live in.
We appear to have reached the point where Motel check-in staff need to have the perception of a Police Officer and the skills of a psycologist,
in addition to being diplomatic and firm - all for a wage at or near the minimum allowed by law.....not so long ago the many millions of folk in the rump of the labour force on this sort of pay had little or no stress at
work because they were classed as drones and trained and paid accordingly, indeed the term "hands" used to describe "workers" is still in regular use, even by some Politicians.
What used to be the most basic jobs are now becoming more and more stressful - where will it all end?

I think that it is good that hotel staff are trained to look out for situations where a child may be in danger and parents of children should be pleased that this sort of training is given. It could be saving a minor of becoming a victim of paedophilia. However, this member of staff acted appallingly. It should have been handled discreetly so as not to cause distress to either father or daughter. I would suggest that this member of staff needs further training immediately on how to deal with the public, a vital part of his job I would think. Until this has been done, this guy should be put to work in a "back office" somewhere, not dealing with members of the public.
