he seems to do it to treat depression, and then he can work normally, not stagger around the office singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. If the alternative is staying at home on sick benefits, I'd have thought you might approve. It seems pretty responsible behaviour. Note the word "micro" in there.

It's a concern obviously because we don't know the long term effects but we should also remember lots of prescribed medications can impair both physically and mentally and they are taken every day by many doing the jobs you describe.
