If you are interested, have a listen to the latest edition of ‘The Now Show’

The complete programme is worth a listen – but if you are only interested in this, Rich Pappiatt starts at about 8 ½ minutes in.

Although a satirical radio show, it is a very serious topic.

Although the UK government has said that the subsidies will continue post Brexit – it won’t be long before the government (and the general population) realise that they get nothing for this yearly €3 billion spend.

Bog paper for all the crap that they dispel?
"On What Does The Eu Spend €58 Billion Each Year?"

Nobody would ever know. Their accounts have not been audited for at least twenty years.
The accounts are audited every year by the European Court of Auditors aren't they?
Not so NJ they are audited every year and the last one found about errors of about 3.8% of the budget.
I don't know. But if so, who audits those auditors? Since that "court" is an institution of the EU and is essentially a branch of the EU's "civil service" it is hardly likely to be independent.
They might be "audited" but no bona fide auditing company, you know one subject to scrutiny, has ever had the balls to sign the accounts off and take responsibility for the accuracy of the submitted figures. Go Figure.
no garaman, they famously have not, there is not an accountant bent enough in the world to do the audit. One of many articles:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/11209248/EU-auditors-refuse-to-sign-off-more-than-100billion-of-its-own-spending.html
It's rather like me running a company and getting my Finance Director to audit the accounts.
But who do you expect to do the audit, NJ, China? Who do you think will audit our accounts after Brexit, Germany?
-- answer removed --
any independent accountant will do garaman.
Who do you think will audit our accounts after Brexit, Germany?

What accounts would they be ?.
Oh sorry, tonyav, I just figured we might have some books or something!
I'm not too fussed about our (the UK's) accounts. I'm quite happy with the system of Parliamentary scrutiny that exists, overseen by our elected MPs. It's the money that the UK pays to the EU that concerns me. There is no proper accountability and no democratic control over the people who spend it.
Oh sorry, tonyav, I just figured we might have some books or something!

In that case probably the same auditing dept that was used pre common market.
