What am I?
24)I travel at 0.047mph in my home (5)
32)Ten of me in Britain were growing before the 10th century (3,4)
36)I live in a burrow. There can be millions of me in an acre (9)
37)I mew, mate for life and my Latin name repeats itself (7)
40)I save UK farmers billions of pounds every year (3)
37. Seagull ? seagulls mew and most species mate for life. However there are many different species of seagull, and therefore very few will have a Latin name that repeats itself.
But the same can probably be said for other animals
32 Both yew trees and oak trees live that long. I have found some of each that date back to there, but not ten or either. Therefore more research is required to determine whether the answer required is yew tree or oak tree.
37. Going back to this question, the only Gull that I can find with a repeating Latin name is Ichthyaetus ichthyaetus, the Great Black-headed Gull. BUT that is not 7 letters! Therefore, I don't think seagull can be the answer!
I emailed to check letter count on qu 11 and (8) is correct.
However I noticed on Editor's Round up that questions shouldn't be asked until mid May although there is nothing stated on the quiz sheet so if you have ordered & prepaid when sending last quiz in then you will not realise this request.
