I doubt there is anyone who will mourn him. He'll probably be cremated with no service.
bit of a non event
whats happening in the election ?

did anyone watch the Moors Prog on sat ight or
the horrific series on the child shot and killed in the 'Pule ?
Desperate how these things destroy whole communities
He has gone, and yes, good riddance, so perhaps we can stop talking about him now.
re: sqad’s post at 06.09, I don’t believe that anyone capable of doing what he did is not mentally ill – whatever the experts say. Ummmm asked at 06.14 “Was he mentally ill when he committed the crimes or just sadistic?” In my opinion a penchant for sadism is not ‘normal’ behaviour either.
It would be nice if that happened Mickey, but unfortunately he is now infamous and so will live on in the history books.

But for now I too would like to suspend my disbelief in the afterlife and hope he burns for eternity in Hell.
Unfortunately Brady dying has not brought any closure to the families.
Had he been put to death they would still not have closure at least whilst he was alive they had hope!
Just how much did it cost keeping him alive what a waste, they should have hanged him, his secrets have died with him.
Naomi - you could then class all the people with fetishes as mentally ill because it's not 'normal'

Where do we draw the line?

He spent too much time in main stream prison for me to think he was mentally ill when he committed his crimes. He got his jollies from torture and paedophilia.
For the record, its my opinion that Brady was mentally ill. To torture and murder young children shows a complete lack of any kind of compassion and empathy.

But what difference does it really make whether he was mentally ill or just evil....the poor children died anyway.
ummmm, //He got his jollies from torture and paedophilia. //

I would draw the line above that.
Mikey - he's clearly not right in the head but it's a difference between choice and compulsion.
mikey.

"But what difference does it really make whether he was mentally ill or just evil....the poor children died anyway."

If his "crimes" were due to an "illness" and they were beyond his control, then surely his death would warrant a R.I.P whatever the crimes. You see Ian Brady as baby and you would be unable to say that he was "evil" and one then would assume that he developed an "illness" or that he WAS just evil.
As mentioned in my above post, mental illnesses have lacked financial support and surrounding sympathy and here is a case where a mental illness has been violated by unsympathetic posts.
I agree with naomi....for reasons unknown, he has always had a mental illness and not a "fetish" as suggested by ummmm.

So where is our understanding of mental disorders OR are we just going to offer sympathy to the depressive mental disorders?
A sort of pick and choose depending upon their effect on society.

Hindley had been ill for sometime before she 'suddenly' died!
Do you seriously believe that 10C? Its all very pie in the sky - next you will be telling me that man never walked on the moon!
