However it is down to a Company whether they wish their business to be associated with an employee's comments.

well hc4361, many must be thinking that the muslim problem needs some sort of solution. We clearly have no clue at the moment and all over the press, and indeed here, I see people rushing to defend Islam rather than condemning their facilitation. It seems almost a Stockholm syndrome-esq absurdity that the targets of terror seem to be going out of their way to deflect blame from the source.

I am neither glad nor sad at her leaving LBC, I am indifferent but I can see their reasons.

She can still do a 'Katie said' blog or similar in her own right.

It's not really a fine line.

A commentator only provides news sites with comment pieces. These will be dictated by news events.

A journalist finds stories. A journalist interviews sources and presents the news to an organ's readers.

After that, commentators will provide input, based on the editorial stance of the journal in question.

We are all commentators. It takes no skill, just access to an opinion.

A journalist has to have a much broader skillset.
