Really?
Paraphrasing "I've never met with the IRA" "oh wait, yes I have"
Engaging in a debate with the also-rans is entirely pointless as all they will do is try to score cheap points from the luxurious position of knowing they will never have to deliver anything in their manifestos.
Engaging with Corbyn is equally pointless because he can promise the earth, paid for by penalising those who have had the bare-faced temerity to be a bit successful in life (but as this won't pay for all his promises, I assume he's got a stash of fairy dust squirreled away somewhere) whilst attacking the Tories for having a manifesto which is more grounded in reality.
If people make up their mind based on the performances in these absurd pointless debates, then I think that is incredibly sad.
Personally I think TM is correct to avoid a sideshow like this.
My biggest concern about this election (other than Labour being successful - the very thought makes my blood run cold) is that it's like a presidential election. People appear to be making their minds-up based on the personality of the leaders, not what they represent.

Eddie; //Khandro you are taking the line I expect to see from his detractors, it does qualify him in any way whatsoever ! It was and is intended ONLY to show what sort of person he is !//
I have ridden thousands upon thousands of miles on bikes - some of it racing- I still cycle regularly and have two bikes. How does that show what kind of person I am and my eligibility to run Britain?
As you never say much of any real substance, anneasquith ... it's hard to know what you think is relevant.
How about you get your teeth into this and give an opinion on it?

Corbyn's values don't frighten me much. I think he's profoundly wrong on some of them, sure, but they don't frighten me.
People really need to stop the histrionics with even the most placid of left-wing ideas. Nationalising the railways is an extremely unexceptional policy when looked at in international perspective - and even Corbyn's proposals for corporation tax and income tax would still leave the UK at the low end of the tax burden when compared to our peers in the developed world.
It's a bit like the radical left crying "racist" all the time: it numbs the effect, and when you have a genuine threat (like Trump) nobody listens because you've cried wolf so often. Same principle applies here. We were told Ed Miliband was a dangerous radical lefty when his policies were if anything only slightly centre-left, and now we are told that no, THIS Labour leader is the REALLY dangerous one...
Give it a break. Actually look at the platforms with a level head and be honest.
