I think so. I can’t see any other answer, apart from turning this country into a Muslim free one. And that’s never going to happen.
I also think that it should be made clear that if anyone turns out to be wrongfully interred, then only a small amount of compensation could be paid. Say, the equivalent to lost earnings.
I saw a man interviewed on BBC news yesterday. He was a journalist with 45/50 years of reporting on terrorism.
He said “no” to internment, and advocated gaining the trust of, and encouraging the wider Muslim community to come forward with information.
This seems like a very naïve idea to me considering they all follow the same basic beliefs, it could take years to happen, and you would never get 100% to cooperate. Whereas some kind of internment would immediately neutralise any potential danger.
