Senior Conservative sources indicated they were ready to opt out of the recent provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) if powers to stop suspects using mobile phones and computers or to impose curfews needed to be toughened up.

One doesn't have to rip up human right laws, merely amend them so they only cover true human rights; and ensure where human rights exist they are enacted in the way that best fits the needs of society.
When you have people preaching hatred on the streets of the UK on film then they should have no right to appeal.

there is nothing in the Words of Truth that specifies which bits of the Human Rights Act is preventing the police for example acting on Italian tip offs that there was a terrorist loose

oops excuse me - it was nothing to do with the act
it was stupidity and inanition on behalf of those tasked with protecting us
