If it goes back to Direct Rule with the government beholden to the DUP in westminster, there is every chance of violence restarting.

I do agree though, he hasn't been direct enough in disassociating himself specifically with the IRA. I get the strong impression it's because he approves of their cause if not their methods. Which is dumb, yes, and a serious lapse of judgement. But it's not dangerous. There are not Irish lives that Corbyn has put into risk by having done this. If for some reason he does end up getting support offers from Sinn Fein, he should refuse it and there needs to be uproar from the party if he doesn't.
What is dangerous, though, is the prospect of the DUP holding the UK government on a leash if Direct Rule is imposed, which is highly possible and should not be brushed off. That is a risk which the Conservative party have chosen to expose the country to.
I've said before that Corbyn's approach to the IRA makes me sick, but at this point I am even more sick of the conservatives returning to this particular dead horse over and over and over again trying to thrash out something out which isn't there. Acknowledge what your leader is doing like the rest of us have with Corbyn.

And what's true of his attitude to the IRA is also true of his attitude to various flavours of Islamic killers, Kromo. Being an equal opportunities type with several long spoons he'll as readily sup with Hezbollah as with Hamas, won't he?
PS: didn't McDonnell want to get rid of MI5 at one time?
