Question For Smokers
21 Answers
I know, I know, it's a filthy habit and I'm not giving up on giving up the habit.
I don't smoke when walking along the road or waiting for a bus, in fact, I don't go out with my smokes.
I hate walking behind or waiting behind someone who is smoking.
Do you smoke when you're walking or waiting? Just nosy :-D

Now, I know that's sexist and apologise if it offends, but I just don't like it. It doesn't 'look right' somehow.
Mr Alba will smoke from house to train station, then from destination to place of work. Can't smoke on the building site but he says he needs his nicotine levels up before starting lol

I gave up years ago but your post reminded me of a time when loads of us smoked and I was driving and smoking, flicked the ash out the window but unbeknown to me, the lit end had come off and the wind took it into the back of the car and it landed on my toddler's car seat, just burning her enough to make her start to cry before I slammed the brakes on and sorted it. Mortified mother. She still mentions it and she's 46 now!!
This is one of my pet hates. It definitely killed my husband - he was warned by the heart specialist that he was on the slippery slope and he was given 10 years. He thought he knew better and sadly died - 10 years after the warning after having had an aortic aneurism and a stroke. I gave up in 1966 after smoking about 60 a day. They were so cheap and we got them from the NAAFI in boxes of 50 - no filters. He said he would stop if I stopped, but he never did. My grand daughter smokes roll-ups - she is 18. She won't listen to any of the family.
Please keep on giving up alba. I did it and you can too. I never ever smoked in the street it was thought so dreadfully common and does look dreadful if a lady does it.
Sorry, I've gone on a bit!
