I am sure the PM's first reaction was "That's all I bloody need now! " followed by the
platitudes.
The lessons will NOT be learned or acted upon.
Eventually there will be NO real culprits , just "regrettable procedural failings" .

The Product itself may have passed all tests (BBA and British Standards) and gained all relevant certification - both the cladding sheets and the insulation......and the windows, similarly.

However, the devil is in the detail and if shortcuts were made in the fixing, if cheaper, quicker or more 'manageable' fixings were substituted then there *is* a case to answer and that is the responsibilty of whoever decided to cut those corners.

Then again, we may not. There was already a review of building regulations under way, following the Camberwell fire. The government won't say when it will be completed. Two separate coroners have called for fitting of sprinklers in high-rises. Nothing has been done. So don't hold your breath.

There was a similar fire where 6 people died ( sorry can't recall the dates/location), there was an inquest, it took 4 years !!!!!!!!
