No, I think the figures are well known.
yep

But no-one knows if any illegals were in there and am sure any illegal survivor won't crack a light
Ridiculous.
He's the male Diane Abbot, MAABOF!
Labour still trying to score political points from a tragedy, already mentioned elsewhere as disgraceful.
As I understand it, David Lammy is connected with this tragedy in a way most people aren't: one of his friends died. I think in that case he has every right to be angry.

Is there a cover-up? I've seen no sign of it. The police have stated repeatedly that they expect the death toll to rise each time they've released a figure. I'm not sure if Lammy has overlooked that, or is just angry that preliminary (and probably low) estimates are released at all. But in the long run he has as much right as anyone to ask these questions and push for answers as soon as possible.
Are the true figures really known , I think not.

Is it a cover up? As he says, I have no idea.
I wonder if there were people in the tower block that, (trying to say this without causing a diversion) were not official residents, or had no documentation to identify them. Mr Lammy himself believes that 60 people were gathered in one flat alone. Surely not.
what was the other building to have have caught fire (loss of 7 lives I believe, maybe 2007?)
awful, utterly awful
'I've got no idea'

Then shut up!
The relevant authorities have absolutely no idea of the number of people living in Grenfell Tower or who they were, just as they have no idea how many people are living in the UK, or who they are.
No, I don't hold with these conspiracy theories. The number may well be a lot higher, but I think that has actually been suggested anyway.
The situation must have been very confused, and so it may well have seemed that there were more bodies than there actually were, falling, etc, but it's hard to see how - or indeed why - you'd want to cover that up. It might, in fact, be that residents themselves could be hesitant about admitting to subletting, suggesting that the number of dead would not match a missing persons list. But without a definitive list of missing persons, or a lot of unaccounted for remains, then it's probably going to run and run.
He actually said 40 were gathered in a flat, Togo
No, of course not, but this the Express, so should anyone really be surprised about anything they say ?

Cobblers IMHO.
