How there is no outcry on AB about streets being shut down for this - yet just the other week they were on here complaining about Pride shutting down the streets!
I wonder why?

I must say that the Mail's article is a bit heavy....I had no idea London was so close to the precipice of Armageddon!!
How does London cope?? How do Londoner's survive such onslaughts as Remembrance Sunday, Trooping the Colour, the Marathon and so many other road-closure events, year on year??
Combined with all those other marches and demonstrations I'm frankly amazed that any of them are able to navigate their way round via other routes.

I love my bike, Chill.......there were some raised eyebrows when I got it a couple of years ago....Granny/Auntie Gness has a bike!!!

But at a family wedding list week I was thrilled at how many of the younger ones are now cycling.....

Yes, I have to put up with the odd rude motorist.....but I smile and blow a kiss when they overtake and squish me into a parked car...

In Ireland there is a big campaign to give cyclists room......Staying alive at one point five......the distance you should give when overtaking.....

But we'll still get the grumblies not wanting to give us that one point five.....x

If these folk want to ride their exercise bikes in the privacy of their own homes with or without other consenting cyclists, who are we to judge? Some may be bicyclists and are easy-osie when it comes to crossbars but hey, each to their own.

I think a lot of it is, Daisy......that some folk are so tight and bitter they don't get joy out of the simple things.....
They are important.......what they have to do is more important and urgent than what anyone else has to do....they are the ones who matter......

When they see folk having fun at Pride or cycling for fun and they see the smiles and joy they resent it because......and you'll see that on here with one or two....they are inward looking and bitter....

No joy in the joy of others is a sad life.....x

It is impossible to travel on Southern Rail in Sussex so if their train drivers are incommoded by cyclists in London I can only cheer

I'm not complaining. I just don't understand the bitterness comment.

Half the people who complained about gay pride seem more concerned about what outfits people were wearing disguised behind concern about road blocks. Until Islay posted about the cycling it hadn't been mentioned!

Ummmm...you only have to read some of the posts on here to see how bitter some are at the thought of others being happy and how they just cannot celebrate or join in the happiness of others.......
