"The electorate voted to leave the EU, and therefore we leave."
"What is more, the number of people who voted to do so was higher than the number of votes cast for any government in our history."
"To me and many of my former colleagues in government who preferred to remain, the argument was over." - interesting that he was repeatedly asked by foreigners if the result could be "got around" - speaks volumes for their view of "democracy".

What else would expect from Johnny Foreigner?
A lot of us Remainers think the same, TTT, perhaps it is you who is finally getting it.
Those were my exact sentiments as the results came in, disappointed but - oh well.

You lost, get used to it.
Are you addressing anyone in particular Baldric?

Any passing remainer will do.
I think there are many members of the public who get it, although not all by any means as we see on here. As for politicians and 'celebrities'/luvvies I think there are still many who dont.
It was quite an admission to tell us that everywhere in the world, elites took it for granted that democracy, as presently enacted, is just a sop for the masses, and a disapproved of decision would be worked around. Explains some powers insistence on retaking votes/elections when the result is unfavourable to them. Pity names weren't named.
This is all getting rather boring already .
How many years of this have we still got to go ?
I'm sorry to tell you but I expect it to continue well past 2019!
Indeed - probably for the next 10 years
10 years Baz?

I like your optimism....
Yeah- I'm a glass is half full fella
At least 10 years, everytime there is a drop in the pound the remoaners will be on the case, when the pound goes up the leavers will be on it. As the pound goes up and down regularly be prepared for a lot of it.
To me, it feels like the 'leavers' lost !
I think we all lost.

Also, I think we lost when we joined.

The whole thing is going to be a very sorry state of affairs, imho
the pound goes up and down regularly

that's nonsense. Currencies don't move "regularly", they respond to events. The pound is currently near its all-time low against the euro, and unlike its previous fall during the housing crisis, this one is self-inficted

D'oh, I get it now, you are saying TTT is a closet Remainer intent on bringing this subject up for the next ten years. There have been enough hints, so I should have twigged sooner.
jno, currency exchange rates change continually on the planet I live on all be it by usually small amounts. And it can be any number of reasons why, sometimes simply people speculating.

And what has the current value got to do with it?
