I can see an immediate vacancy for Harry at this point ! He could take over all his granddads duties straight away, starting the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

65 years of cutting ribbons, shaking hands, and nominally heading charities run by other people. It makes one proud.

agree..the old boy "has dun good " time to put his feet up !

A Well-earned Retirement, Enjoy.
Good on him. Apart from his verbal gaffes, he has been amazing. He was very handsome as a young man.
His verbal gaffes added to his popularity.
I think his "Phillpisms" are so funny if non PC !
He will be missed for his Gaffs, well done Philip, you've done jus proud, it's a pity the MPs don't take a tip from him & how to work.
mum met him a few times in his role as MND patron... last time at a formal reception he asked mum if dad wore pants under his kilt ! ..lol...
Yes, I don't think he was ever being intentionally offensive, just trying to be funny, but his idea of humour was about four decades out of date.
No more walking behind his wife, bonus surely :-)
think Mrs Queen should consider a stick nowadays..or not "do" steps !
I fell down my stairs the other day because I was wearing silly shoes that I'm not used to, and I'm only 40 something.

Has Her Maj been seen to be finding steps difficult?
a few well meaning chappies that put a hand or arm out to provide balance have got into trouble for it ! royal protocol and all that !
Mikey I think you'll find that Prince Edward has already taken on the DOE award scheme some time ago.

Margo....thanks....I hadn't realised that.

But Harry was complaining the other day, that as a "spare" Prince, he didn't really have a role. Taking over all of his Granddad's roles would solve that problem !
I quite agree Mikey - he seems to be 'drifting' at the moment.

Margo....I am far from being a fervent Royalist, but I have a great deal of time for Harry. Everybody seems to like him and he shares his Mums gift for making people smile. But I think he needs to realise that nobody is going to give him a job and that he needs to find a niche for himself, which suits his talents.

Anything with kids would seem to be a good place to start.
My Grandfather met him and the Queen and Queen Mother whilst receiving medals on several occassions, always stated that all 3 showed genuine interest in his work and a wicked sense of humour.
Enjoy your rest Sir!
That's all true Mikey , but he still has a social life to maintain. :-)
I think it a shame that Harry couldn't stay in the army after a newspaper told the world where he was. The army seemed to suit him and he was happy in his work.
there should be a plaque for him to unveil to celebrate the occasion ...
