Here we are again with the virtual non stop flood coverage in USA.
I sympathise with those who have lost homes, possessions and loved ones.
Thankfully there has been little loss of life.
On the other side of the world there are thousands dead and dying who get a short mention at the end of the news if at all. USA is not the only country sufferings!

I made this point a few days ago needy......10,000's die in Asia every year from weather-related disasters.
But Bangladesh doesn't have the oil...
campbellking...and few Americans, which is more to the point.

Reminds me of that old joke about an American newspaper heading :

"Earthquake disaster in Pakistan. No Americans killed"
I'm pretty sure it's Texas that's suffering from too much coverage right now.
This is a difficult subject on which to comment. Agreement with your premise, needawin, could bring the wrath of sympathisers down on your head, with accusations of lack of compassion, lack of sympathy, and the like, but the media can certainly sometimes overdo the emphasis on events. And it is the media who decide what, and how much, will be featured in the papers, television, and so on. It won't be long before the editors find something else to feature, and the poor people of Texas will be ignored.
