I could have chosen any one of a number of clips that are on the BBC website this morning. According the BBC weather chappie, just before 07:00, there is a third hurricane on its way !

Climate change deniers like Trump, need to have a good long look at themselves.

Whilst I'm all for a cleaner planet I don't know just how much of this perceived climate change is down to man. Do you?
Question Author
Personally, without any scientific training, no, I can't be sure.

But enough scientists, all over the world seem to think that Man is at least partly responsible, including David Attenborough, who can do no wrong in my book !
Who did David blame for climate change say 250 million years ago?
Dinosaurs probably. Didn't they cause the ice-age?

Let me just repeat my post from the other thread...

"t's very difficult to disentangle the effects just due to random weather conditions, and the extra effects that may be expected from climate change. I think it's suspected that the water in the Atlantic is warmer than usual, driving particularly powerful storms. Harvey led to record rainfall and Irma has record wind speeds (at least, for a Hurricane this far east), and these records may not be coincidental, but there's more than a little reason to be hesitant about blaming climate change for that. If the records continued to tumble, or if storms of this intensity remained as frequent, then there'd be a case for it. But after one season you have to strike a note of caution, because otherwise you could be mixing up weather and climate."

[Lightly edited, although of course the original can be seen anyway]

Also, just because something happens naturally doesn't mean it always happens naturally. As long as there have been forests, there have been natural forest fires, but no-one would dream of using that as an excuse to hide the damage that humans can do by causing additional such fires. Climate Change is not really different in that regard. Of course it happens naturally, and is a feature of our planet's history, but that doesn't in itself have anything to say about the present changes.

Thanks Jim !
Thanks for what?
You could have saved your breath Jim, and seen the post for what it is. Just another thinly disguised attempt to have a Trump pump. No regard for the victims once again, just self regard and the usual Pavlov's dog bark. Sun spots. Or words to that effect.
Thanks for pointing out that the OP going after "Climate Change Deniers" in the wake of these hurricanes is probably a little premature, I suppose.

It's windy in the Caribbean, ohh no. It's hot in Kuwait as well, ohh no, and cold in the Antarctic,.... never. Is it raining in Manchester? No? That's alright then. What is the climate in Swansea like these days? Deteriorating fast I'm afraid.

Togo...rowlocks...again.

Trump has denied that any climate change is happening and has done everything in his power to make sure that America is not going to take part in any international accord. He has done this mainly by Executive Orders, like most of his recent activities, as he can't get the backing of Congress.

Having a pop at Trump ?....and why not.
Unless people are prepared to forego the little luxuries in life I don’t know what you expect anyone (including Trump) to do about it. I would guess that you, like most, would be reluctant to change your lifestyle to any great degree, so what would you suggest be done about it?
//Having a pop at Trump ?....and why not.//

Because the keyboard is there?
I listened to a documentary on the radio the other day about climate change, and it said that even if we stopped doing anything whatsoever to help climate change, just did nothing, the temperature of the planet over 100% years would rise by less than 1%. Which he said would barely have an impact. His words.
Step 1 of the AA programme is admitting that you have a problem (Steps 2-12 are about passing the buck to God, but still...)

If we have political leaders that do not even see there is a problem then there certainly won't be much chance of doing anything about it. But once that obstacle is overcome, and politicians across the world take the problem seriously, then there is a chance that we'll make at least some of the necessary changes.
//Having a pop at Trump ?....and why not. //

Because you're transparent - and your Trump bashing is becoming tedious.
Who's "he", smow?

Also, less than 1% of what?
Jim, you're simply attempting to delay the inevitable. It's all a complete nonsense because people aren't going to change.
"Jim, you're simply attempting to delay the inevitable."

Well, possibly. Why's that such a bad thing to try, though?
Jim, //Why's that such a bad thing to try, though?//

Because it’s futile. It’s not going to happen. We're wasting our time - and our money.
