/// Since his appointment, there have been calls from some of the survivors for Sir Martin, who was chosen by the prime minister, to stand down. ///

That is before the inquiry starts, let us hope that he comes up with the right deliberation.

/// Three months on, however, only three of the 196 households who needed rehoming have moved into permanent accommodation offered by the council. ///

I wonder why that is, perhaps it is because they are quiet comfortable living in their hotels?
"The 196 households include people who lived in Grenfell Tower and also those who live nearby whose homes were made uninhabitable by the fire.
The Grenfell Fire Response Team says it has made offers of permanent housing to 38 households, 22 of which have been accepted, but not all have yet moved in"
AOG, do you think they're being temporarily housed in the Park Lane Hilton?
Yes, all that tells us is that somewhere between 3 and 21 households have now moved in to permanent accommodation. I'm not sure what the definition is of 'permanent' in these cases
Not a hotel or B&B.
Permanent will imply they have a new lease/tenancy agreement in place.
Probably, ummmm. I was just wondering whether some of the non-permanent ones have been offered accommodation for a trial/fixed periods with the possibility of it becoming permament if it suits
one thing that's bugged me is the offer of housing from the council - surely it would depend on the needs of the tenants?
Health for example ?
I wonder what is happening to those who owned/lived in private mortgaged accommodation or were private tenants (official via private landlords or unofficial via sublets). Does anyone know if they are being rehoused too or is it just the council tenants?
They probably do have a priority list, Albs. Hotels are not so suitable for kids.
//Fourteen of the 129 properties in Grenfell Tower are owned by leaseholders, as well as an additional three in Grenfell Walk, all of whom have lost their homes. //

Their side is discussed here - article from July.

Thanks, mamyalynne. There are fewer private flats there than i had thought based on an Express article about luxury flats
ummmm

At least they will be assured four good meals a day, nicely set out for them in the dinning room.
Are they? 4 meals?
I'm not sure they are at Ritz though AOG- the word hotel can describe a very wide range - there may be 4 people sharing a cramped room for example and not all will serve hotel meals
Oh that's nice AOG, have you a link to that.

Thank you.
Who eats 4 meals a day anyway?
breakfast- continental /full English option, possibly wth Bucks Fizz
lunch
afternoon tea
dinner, probably with wine, coffee and liquers
Mamyalynne

No but think about it, they are accommodated in hotels, so do you think that they all have the full use of the kitchens, or do they have to fend for themselves by eating in cafes or maybe McDonald's?
Thank you for at least trying to find a link - FF must have it then though he missed out the silver serving salvers.
