Gosh! Who'd have thought. :)
Well their leader wasn't. She didn't seem to turn up at anything much, and simply spread bad news at what was planned next for the electorate.

I doubt very much that TM would have had the 'Lightbulb Moment' that led to the Snap Election. That kind of decision would have been made by the Strategists with TM acting as a mouthpiece.
//I bet she's right mad at whichever moron called it, then.//

So didn't she have the deciding nod to call the election ?
Well I think that is stating the bleeding obvious.

They were totally wrong footed and for some unknown reason she listened to the whispering campaign that said she didn't have a mandate to do Brexit.

If she had just got on with it a. We would be a bit further on by now and b. Labour would not be so cocky.
She shouldn't have listened to that - Sir Humphrey .
Of course they were not, and then the compounded the error by allowing May to cock it up right from the start.

Lets hope she decides to go for another long walking holiday and have another brainwave !
Be careful what you wish for, Mikey.
Bring it on.....Labour are ready and waiting !
That's what I mean.
mikey; //Bring it on.....Labour are ready and waiting ! //
Considering how you are (quite rightly) always going on about how opposed to racism you are, I would have thought your conscience wouldn't allow you to support this new racist manifestation of the Labour Party.
Well, she could go on another walking holiday.
Khandro....what new racist manifestation ?

This thread is all about how ill-prepared the Tory Party was, when May ill-advisedly called the Election this year.

///when May ill-advisedly called the Election///

See, and try to understand the post @ 18:46
mikey , you're the person that first mentioned labour on this thread.
Although it grieves me to agree with Mikey, he is right. There was no need for an election; the government had a working majority. The polls suggested that she could stroll to a huge majority. She was wrong.
Baldric....

May is either the PM or she isn't. She called the Election....she didn't have to. But even if she realised that it was a mistake, she could still have made a better job of the campaign, and she didn't.

This isn't anybody else's fault but hers....the buck stops with her, not some Party wonk.

You really haven't got a clue how it works, have you Mikey?
Vulcan....just how was I suppose to respond to a debate on the inadequacies of the Tory Government, without mentioning Her Majesty's Official Opposition ?
Agreed.
