Returning to a former employer

Have been given the chance to return to an employer in a different position to one I left 2 years ago. Does anyone have any experience of this type of thing. I have a few reservations and want to know what you think.

Yeah I did it once, everything that was wrong with the job when I left was still wrong and a lot of the stuff that was right was now wrong.

There are too many variables to give a definative answer but as mdoo98 said if you left on good terms the first time then things should be OK.
