With the recent political conferences, I've heard various media people (TV and Radio) saying things like "Pardy", "Polidical" "Commiddee" "Meedding" etc. What's wrong with these people? Why can't they promouse there worms property?

Apparently something to do with breggzit.

TV News Minutes ago, "Islarmic State"
'hypodemic nurdle' takes some beating
Wurzel TV?
The word I hate the most that broadcasters use is Plice. Hardly ever hear a correct pronunciation. It's Police for heavens sake. Don't get me started on Deteriation, sic.
My pet hate....fith (fifth) and sickth (sixth)
How do you pronounce your 'worms' ..?
should nt that be
"pronounce fings properly"

The beeb dumbed down and allowed regional accents in order to be more 'of the people' or democratic or not-elitist

the accents allowed include estuarial, chav and sub-chav, and street-Jamaican.

Scouse (" the 'pule") is not popular as everyone associates this with a defendant in the dock who has been found guilty
The one I hate is "bear sickly" (basically).
oh - ay - being educated - dont like

"aller riz great!" - it is a girlie thing ( gurlz do it more than boys) to put in a soft 'r' between two vowels

the hopeless meedja savvy chavs have gone back to allahu akbar

have we had nucular yet ? (nuclear)
I don't like to hear FEBUARY
"Laura Norder" has been driving me nuts for years.
the Oxford dictionary thinks Islarmic is an alternative to Islammic. (In both cases the S is pronounced as Z, of course.)
"Burgulry" - wahhhhhhhh
Haitch......pure and simple, haitche it.
Ben Shepherd saying Congradulations

Anybody saying jewllery instead of jewellry
Ben Shepperd full stop.
ugh
Because they spent all their time whilst growing-up listening to increasingly slovenly language. Nothing wrong with an accent - but it must be a clear and educated accent. I have a Yorkshire accent, but I speak with clarity and have no problem; I'm not 'inner-city Bradford' although I use broader vowel-sounds than Southerners. Media people nowadays have cast-off all the common standards, with the result that they are often incomprehensible.

I detest 'Febury' - try teaching children to spell 'February' - but there are so many solecisms. Language is a complex code and everyone needs a common standard in order to understand one another. This is all but lost and 'media people' need to sharpen up.
^^ Yes, I've just remembered. I keep hearing about 'daring-do' instead of 'derring-do' - don't they know anything?
The need for a pronounciation service is unpresidented. :-)
