"Join labour to avoid brexit" - PMSL has anyone told him Labour , the front bench and especially Jezza are pro brexit? oh dear poor old limp dums have no idea do they!
To be honest it's one of the more pragmatic things I've heard come from a Lib Dem. Both of the major parties are seriously divided over Brexit - and yes, if you really want to influence the outcome and you are willing to actually grit your teeth and plunge yourself into the giant septic tank that is politics, then the best thing to do is strengthen the "soft Brexit"...
Didn't they campaign pro EU during the referendum? I lose track.
Perhaps Clegg hasn't kept up with the u-turn. Or perhaps it's one of those Labour statements that what they said didn't actually mean what they said even if a very large proportion thought they said what they said but didn't say.
labour were ostensibly pro remain but did a half ar5ed job and essentially got the blame for the outcome not least of which from the limp dums, for not trying hard enough. Jezza has been anti EEC/EC/EU forever even going back to the 75 referendum, psst don't tell mikey!
Not into languages, but just reading in a Spanish news paper that the Conservative Party conference in the UK was described as the party juan kers , can anyone on a/b translate please
I've usually been a fan of Nick Clegg, but the thought had crossed my mind.
An ex Lib Dem leader, at a time when there is a big opportunity for the Lib Dems to take advantage of a chaotic Tory party and an extreme Labour party: so his advice? Join one or the other. I am not getting that I'm afraid.
I think his idea, which was common among moderate Labour people some time ago, was that if you join labour you'll drown out the commies. But it's daft. As is the idea of joining the tories. If you are concerned about Brexit, join the Lib Dems, his own party, surely. The whiff of evostik is in the air :-)
Whatever happened to the will of the people, just because of politicians who could see nice cushy European jobs come up after they have failed in politics here, they will continue to call for referendum after referendum until they get the answer they want. What a load of over opinionated wasters.
I am well aware of what he is saying Chair as you’ll see if you actually read the posts. Just to repeat: for a recent ex leader of his party to advocate joining one it the other parties is particularly bizarre. And unlikely to make a hoot of difference anyway

Not pretty. And not particularly tasteful. But not wrong either, imho. If you seriously want to influence the path the UK takes, this will be more effective than voting Lib Dem.
