I spent 11 years in the UAE, and most of the police are from Somalia & Ethiopia with little education, and on duty they smoke, spit, ogle western woman, and are rude.

They would take the word of the accuser, as I think he was a Tunisian, but he certainly wasn't western, so its a feather in their cap, as far as they are concerned.

I'm a friend of the British justice system, which means hearing both sides of the case (audi alteram partem, as good British judges say). The same principle applies in the ancient Muslim game of cricket: you don't know how well the first side has batted until you see the second side do it.
