So Much For Free Speech.......

This man is absolutely correct. My daughter works for a famous retailer in an area heavily populated by immigrants. She is regularly abused and insulted by them but her complaints to management always lead to nothing. Yesterday she was putting stock into the medicine/ cosmetics aisle when an asian woman came up to her, prodded her in the shoulder and said;...

Aside from the cultural/racial aspects of this case, and the experiences of 10clarions daughter...the behaviour described is all too common across the board. Some of the rudest are nice white and English. We have an elderly lady client who is demanding, with no manners whatsoever. She'll bang her money on the counter...demanding immediate attention. Rarely says "thankyou". There are 16 year olds who are more polite than she is.
The silly boy is just a lightweight ... here's a proper rant.

10cs; "In years to come, the whole of Europe will just be an extension of Asia, Africa and the middle east because sycophantic idiots think all immigrants are wonderful and will enhance and diversify everywhere.
Situations that this man describes, will become the norm and people are allowing it to happen and speaking out against him without having experienced anything like he has.
People should wake up and smell what they're shoveling " - I'd give you BA for this but you already have it, double BA!

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding about the term "free speech", that somehow anyone is allowed by law to say anything they like no matter how inflammatory so long as they believe it to be the truth. "I can say whatever I like, mate - we have free speech in this country, innit!" Er, no you can't, mate, because we don't!
UK citizens have what is termed a "negative right" to freedom of expression. However, this is not a blanket authorisation by any means, as there are many exceptions set down in law. Plus, the UK's laws on defamation, slander and libel are some of the toughest in the world.

I agree with 10C, I have witnessed rudeness from Asians in my local supermarket regularly, they rarely say please or thank you and just take their change from the checkout girl and walk away. One checkout girl once said 'you're welcome' after yet another rude Asian woman who then turned round and glared at her and muttered something in her own language. And yes, I know other people can be rude, but not to the extent I see with Asians.

//That goes beyond free speach in so many ways!//
(No, it doesn't.)
//Free speech does not mean that you can make offensive remarks which are deemed to be racist.//
(Yes, it does.)
And that's just the first two posts by just two of the people who do not understand what free speech means.
But, the issue of free speech apart, there's the ugly chorus approving his arrest and calling for him to be sacked.
If this chap's rant is breaking the law then maybe we should criminalise small-mindedness and malice as well. Then PC Plod could pop round here and make sure some of the choristers get their (as one nasty put it) "just deserts".
