When has a female trousered knee become a sex object?

I don't suppose a sexual thought went through this chaps head, show business people are very touchy feely 'lovey-dovey' people anyway.

He touched her knee.

She taps his hand.

He puts his hand on her knee again and she looks embarrassed and taps it.

When he takes his hand away the second time, she has a small grimace on her face.

She has subsequently issued a statement saying that she was not offended. This shows class. Class that Sandler does not appear to have.

But let’s not fall into the trap of believing that because Ms Foy is not offended that we cannot discuss this in general terms.

It’s useful to have these discussions to work out why some people think it’s okay to be able to touch women as and when they see fit.
I will say what I see on any subject and I can not for the life of me understand the crucifixion of Adam Sandler for this incident.

I have to ask myself if most ABers don't leave their house. I have been touched, patted slapped on the knee hundreds of times by men and women alike and in 99.9999999% of those time I never gave it a second thought. I had no idea that the way Sandler made contact with Claire Foy was deemed to be so sexual. I should be happy I suppose ... I must ooze sex appeal.
I don't think it is sexual but some people just don't like to be touched by someone they barely know.

Never been a tactile person but I accept some people are. One of my mates insists on a hug just before we go our separate ways after a night out ... not my thing but I haven't suffered any trauma from it.
Another mate will put his hand on my knee when he wants to interrupt me and say something that he thinks is more important ... no problem with that either.
My mother-in-law tends to touch my knee when we're putting the world to rights.

I've informed the police, social services, local media and put a postcard in the newsagents window.

She MUST be stopped.

God it feels good to vent.

We am talking about an unwanted advance. Touching someone’s knee is a classic sexual entreé.

You need to get out more Zacs ... I believe I can tell the difference between a 'classic sexual entreé' and a pat on the knee.
You’re not a female Talbot and neither am I. But I saw how uncomfortable she was with his touching. If you think that’s OK the so be it.
He was being a cheeky sod in my opinion and he was out of order but some reactions are OTT.
She looked more peed off than offended, as I would be too.

Either way, he looked daft, she showed class.
Chinajan //Men! Don't do anything to a woman that you wouldn't like a man to do to you.//

I've spent my entire life doing things to women that I wouldn't want a man to do to me !!!!
lol @ khandro!

Now THAT was funny!
//Togo, you can sit next to women. Just try to keep your hands off their knees. If tempted, put them on a man's knee instead and see what happens.

//Still no reply I note, to my 18.11 query. Repeat "what was that about"? Or were you over primed to react? Haha so obvious.

Ill mannered or what? I was called out, and when I rightly asked why, and patiently waited for an answer....... The poster crept away as ever.
Jno explain yourself, if you can, by the time I get up in the morning, or are you another posting in a "haze"?
No explanation was of course to be expected. I am actually more pleased, I suppose, than saddened. Entirely in keeping with the double standards on display on a couple of threads yesterday. Ho Hum.
She didn't look uncomfortable to me. I thought she handled it with humour - wise girl. Fuss over nothing - but no change there!

Nice to see that those who like to be offended on behalf of others have well and truly been put in their place, thanks to Talbot/Togo and co.
Well that is just dandy, all resolved by Togo/Talbot .:-)
'I will now no longer respond to this thread'

Oops.

In comparison I can't help think Weinstein got off lightly.

I can't wait for the Spacey thread.
Is a "Spacey" thread one of those with a load of answers removed?
