I wonder who Teresa will choose to be the next Defence Secretary ?

Boris perhaps ? Or may be a woman ?

But does anyone really believe that Fallon had no choice but to resign, because he touched someones knee, 15 years ago ? I strongly suspect that there is a bomb ticking away somewhere, that will come to the surface within the next day or so

It is when that's your majority, ymb. The trouble is that there are obviously more sexual harassment allegations to come, so she has to be extremely careful who she chooses lest exactly the same thing happen to them. Meanwhile the government is now frequently abstaining from votes in parliament (because they know they will lose) AND risks having its...

By the way, in that Election that she didn't need to call, she allowed Labour to gain 30 seats !
I agree Mickey, I am simply disagreeing with Eddies usual hysterical terms and putting it into context.
Question Author
YMB...we agree again ....will start to talk you know !
Yes Mickey, but nothing to do with the point I am making against Eddies hysterical claim she doesnt have many to choose a replacement.

She has 318, by comparison labour has 262 many of whom JC cannot pick for obviouls reasons and he managed, so why should it be a problem to TM with 56 more MP's to choose from?
Mikey at 08:46, We know. You've told us countless times.

I don't know who she'll choose but we'll know soon. I expect we'll also soon know whether there are more skeletons in his - and other people's - closets.
How about getting JRM in, prep him for PM ?
Question Author
YMB....JRM ?
She may have 318 MP's but how many of them have the necessary experience and qualifications for such a high profile, important and demanding job?
My point was that she lost some of her most able MP's by her ill judged election. Which to my way of thinking was catastrophic.
I can just imagine the comments on AB if the situation had been reversed, Labour held power, Corbyn was PM and made the same mistake!

Eddie, //I can just imagine the comments on AB if the situation had been reversed, Labour held power, Corbyn was PM and made the same mistake! //

Me too. No different to those we've had in this case.
At the moment it could be unwise for the PM to have a big reshuffle of her Cabinet for fear of other members resigning for their indiscretions.

Hans.
FAO... Cassa..8.23 and Mikey..8.27

Whilst there has never been a case of an opposition MP being appointed to Cabinet, it would be possible for the PM to appoint Jeremy Corbyn because he is a member of the Queens Privy Council.

Hans
Jacob Rees-Mogg Mickey.

So Eddie, are all of these "big hitters" most had 5 years or less.

Give the job to Johnny Mercer.
My suggestion of Corbyn was rather young in cheek but seems to have been taken seriously by some lol

Obviously this is nothing to do with 'Kneegate' - Sir Michael hinted in his resignation letter that there is going to be more stories to come, so he resigned / was sacked in advance.
Chief whip replaces Fallon!
