Gentlemen’S Club Accepts ‘Women’.

With the current furore on AB about gender blurring, I thought this might be of interest:

If I was a lady I would apply for membership to the said club, let them go through the rigmarole of dealing with my membership and when I was accepted I would impolitely decline their kind offer.

From the story Zacs. It's a gentlemen's club so only accepts gentlemen, so they think the member is a gentleman. The member opts to be in a club that is for gentlemen so must consider themselves one. But this is all obvious.

I'm told the following is true. A member at Lord's cricket ground on whether women should be allowed into the hallowed club: "Women? Women? They'll be letting dogs in next!"

I can't remember who the delightful man was.

I went to Lord's a few years ago. I was told off for coming in too early, even though the gateman let me in quite happily. I was told I couldn't bring my drink in FROM the balcony to the bar in which I'd bought it, and OH was told off for not wearing a tie, but was let in begrudgingly.
Sheesh! Keep your clubs, guys.
