minty, the other Bulger killer has been no further trouble. And there's no evidence that the killing of James was anything to do with paedophilia. He may be a child molester, but I've not seen any suggestion that this is so; it seems he's a child porn viewer, which isn't quite the same thing and (in my opinion) isn't reason enough to lock people up for life. Give him another 10 years and see.

What I’ve found is that judges are suspiciously lenient on paedophilies and that members of parliament are even more suspiciously not making laws to up their sentence guidelines to life meaning life for these heinous crimes.

I said this person..not Thompson... this person clearly has deep ingrained problems that require more in depth consideration and treatment...neither did I say there were any paedophilia crimes... but given the recurrence of child porn ..I would have my concerns.. by constantly giving him a new identity and life rather than have him face up to the realities of life are the authorities not in a small way empowering this ?

Mary Bell has had a successful and productive life since her release and new identity.
I'm not sure that she can be described as a paedophile but she certainly carried out two very nasty murders on two very young boys.

How many more chances will he be given? He's already been back to jail once. Maybe the rule should be 'one extra strike and you're in - permanently'.

Enough is enough. Qualifications seem to blind experts to the fact that this man is not going to be rehabilitated in the community but rather finds himself with exactly what he lusts for, access to the lowest of the low with similar tastes and 'interests'.

Let's have him castrated and see if that affects his appetites and if not, try some other intervention.
There's an answer somewhere but letting him wander the streets as he is ain't it.
